WINA Board Elects New Chairman and President
WINA Board of Directors Elects Toteda as Chairman and Goodson as President.
At its meeting today, the WINA Board of Directors elected Steve Toteda of Cooper Industries as Chairman. Toteda is VP & GM of the Wireless business unit of Cooper Bussmann. Toteda brings over 20 years of experience in the wireless and wireline communications equipment market. Prior to Cooper, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Dust Networks, where he focused on delivering enabling technology for highly reliable and ultra-low power wireless mesh networking, or "Smart Dust." Prior to Dust, he served as group manager for the IP Communications Terminals product group at Cisco Systems, responsible for Cisco's award winning line of wired and wireless IP phones. Before Cisco, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Komodo Technology, a leading developer of IP telephony products, which was acquired by Cisco. Previous roles included senior engineering and product management with LSI Logic, Cirrus Logic and Harmonic Lightwaves. He is a sought-after speaker on wireless technology and wireless networking systems for the industrial market. Toteda holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering from Lehigh University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
The Board also elected Executive Director Paul Goodson to the office of President. Goodson previously was elected as Secretary and Treasurer. The addition of this new role consolidates management responsiblities with the Executive Director. As President, Goodson is the Chief Executive Officer for WINA. Goodson brings extensive professional experience in associations, industry, engineering, and information technology. For 20+ years, he has served as the chief staff executive for professional associations operating on an international and regional basis. During previous employment with Carolina Power & Light Company (now Progress Energy), he managed information technology support organizations through periods of startup, significant change and growth. Goodson is founder and CEO of The Goodson Group, LLC, a management consulting and services firm, where he currently provides on-going executive leadership and management services for client organizations and engages in selected consulting projects. In addition to his work with WINA, he currently serves as the founding Executive Director and President of the North Carolina Executive Roundtable. Goodson is an electrical engineering graduate of North Carolina State University. Goodson holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
