As the ISA100.11a standard for a wireless field instrumentation system moves toward ratification, work is underway on other elements of the standard.  This includes working groups for infrastructure or backhaul networks as well as applications like asset tracking.  Is it necessary for these standards to be ratified before users move forward with deploying wireless? What additional benefits can users expect from these parts of the standards?
