Workshop Descriptions
Informative analyst presentations and panel discussions will be held daily in ARC’s booth. On Wednesday, owner/operator educational workshops and discussion groups will be featured in a separate 100-seat theater.
Plant Performance Benchmarking
ARC has been working with owner/operators across industry to assist in benchmarking their performance in automation technology deployment, business practices, staffing, alarm management, and technology infrastructure since 2005. The Benchmarking Consortium has grown to almost 200 plants during that time. This workshop will focus on two important issues — industry tools to collect and report benchmarking information and how owner/operators can take advantage of this data and other metric information inside their own companies.
ARC has invited a Benchmarking Consortium member to talk about experiences in setting up their internal benchmarking program and the results to date. ARC has also invited three automation and software suppliers to talk about how they embedded the Benchmarking Consortium metrics into their products to aid their clients in collecting their benchmarking data.
Handover Issues and Asset Performance Management
This workshop will report on activities to develop guidelines for more effective transfer of information needed for operations and maintenance from EPCs to owner/operators. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to accelerate operational readiness and increase the owner/operator's ability to operate, maintain, and improve the performance of their manufacturing assets throughout their lifecycle. In addtion, strategies to improve asset operating and availability performance will be presented. Assets are more than physical equipment. Learn about your 'hidden assets' which drive the ultimate performance of your assets and what can be done to unlock their hidden value.
Improved Agility and Speed with Multi-Plant Synchronization
The dynamic economy is driving rapid changes in material costs and market demand. Unfortunately, they often move quickly and in opposition to our objectives. Agility and responsiveness is needed to avoid being caught between 'a rock and a hard place'. Multi-plant synchronization provides the agility and speed needed to respond appropriately as conditions change.
